Barbaro-san, am I correct in assuming that, unless we win the lot we bid on, we are not obligated to pay for it? And that, also, if we win two different lots, we only pay for the one we bid the most on?

Can you include a "At the time of this post, it is _:__ _M" for ease of time-zone-checking, please?

Since Sada quit, that means that the cards in the unbid-for hand go into the deck to be shuffled out in the change sessions, correct?

Since Sada quit, that means that the cards in the unbid-for hand go into the deck to be shuffled out in the change sessions, correct? Yes. If it's a 6-card hand, we'll split them up into 3 lots of 2 cards each. If it's a 7-card hand, we'll split them up into 4 lots, three of 2 cards each and one of 1 card. They'll be split in the order they are shown.

Kaitani has not signed in since this started (unless he went invisible, so we can't see him). What would happen if he were determined inactive and removed from the game at this stage?

I'm thinking we should trash the unused hands instead of having them available in the Change Sessions to raise the difficulty/fairness of the game.
I don't want to make this decision without player feedback, of course, considering that would be going back on something I had ruled.
If not, we'll have to split his hand in the Change Session as well.

Considering that you already changed the other rule that ensured there would be discarded cards in the change session, I'm against this change.

I agree with trashing the hand. If other players would prefer keeping those cards in play, we could do what was originally planned where those cards are shuffled into a deck and put out in the change session? The problem is that one person quit legitimately, but the other person is inactive. Since inactives were to have their hands trashed, it would make sense that his hand is trashed, even if he hasn't gotten it yet. However, because of your ruling on Sada, one hand would be kept and sent out in the change round, but we can't tell for sure which hand that would be. Either way, a rule would have to be changed/adjusted, but I'd say to stick with the inactivity rules in order to try and keep the rules as they originally were and basically just count Sada as inactive? It's just a problem because quitting probably wasn't planned for in the setup of this game...

How about:
If any of the leftover cards are not bid on in the 1st Change Session, they are permanently trashed?

In that case, people will simply bid single coins on them. It's more of a problem that there's a conflict of rules... One hand should be trashed, while the other should be reauctioned, but we don't know which one is which. Also, a problem that I've had with the reauction is that the lots are predetermined, which goes against part of the original strategy of the game. Maybe a good alternative is to have the 2 leftover lots be shuffled together and dealt out in one 2-card lot per change session? It's more of a compromise between the rules, but I feel it would work pretty well? What does everyone else think?

and what would happen if this inactive suddenly became active?

I'm just wondering (as it soon will be relevant), which Change Lot is whose? In other words, since players cannot vote for "the lot [they] trashed," who cannot bid on which lots? I would have assumed that they were related by lot letter, but it appears that this is not the case.
Can you clear this up soon as the next lot is approaching? Thanks! ;D
