What did you guys think of this game? Would you all be interested in trying Bid Poker out again with the following new rules?
1. You earn the yen bid on the cards you trashed. 2. If the player load is small, each lot will be 5 or 6 cards, and the rest will not be in play.

Were we to do it again, I thought of a cute variation on the theme. But that's all I'll say on the matter.
Having a chance to gain yen would be a nice incentive for people to discard- rather than constantly accumulate- cards.

Yeah. I'm up for gaining coins for discarding. I'm curious as to how the game would change with missing cards.

I thought that this game was too stagnant with no real profit for discarding. So I definitely agree with giving coins back to the player who put out the Change Lot. There was also a problem with having too many extra cards. When a player can have a quarter of the cards without forcing a PIG, there's a problem. I would be curious to see how having just enough for a basic hand at the beginning will work out. And of course the potential for having missing cards could prove interesting. Also, if you're looking to keep it true to the manga, you should reveal who bid and how much they bid for each hand. I know that previously you've kept the anonymity, but I think it adds a different level to the game and strategy. You might also want to get rid of the "you cannot win more than one opening lot" clause. I think that it would make the initial lots more valuable and costly, thus decreasing the number of coins in play (I had forgotten this was your edit actually...). There's a lot that was different in this playtest than in the manga, and I feel like we should have a true-to-form playtest as well. Of course, it's ultimately up to you guys what's implemented! So yeah, if you're looking for more people to play a game, I'll gladly sign up!

Absolutely agree on both of those fixes.
