Round 2
As the hourglass continues to run out, a bell begins sounding over and over from somewhere. Alydar wakes with a start and declares the end of the round. He calls the wandering players back to their seats and prepares to deliver the results.
“Let’s start with… player 3, shall we?” He picks up the box, opens it with a key that suddenly appears in his hand, and reveals the vote: a number 1. “I see our current total is 1. That is, if no one decided to prevent him from voting…” He picks up the REMOVE box and shakes it, putting it down after hearing nothing inside. He does the same for the RESTRICT box and pauses upon hearing the clatter. “Well, well, I see we won't be getting our first vote." Alydar opens the RESTRICT box and pulls out a brown poker chip. "This poker chip will be returned to Kaitani Katsumi at the end of the game. If player 7 is indeed the winner, Mr. Kaitani can cash in. At any rate, the current total is still 0. Now, let's move on down the line."
He opens player 4’s box to reveal the number 61 scrawled on a piece of paper. As both of Kuwabara Kimura’s boxes are empty, the current total is now 61. Moving onward, player 5’s vote is revealed to be quite large: 98. Again, empty boxes allow the total to increase to 159. At player 6, the number on the gray sheet of paper is revealed: 14. And once again, both boxes are empty, bringing the total up to 173.
Alydar moves on to player 7 and opens the box. He takes out the vote paper, revealing a vote of 10. The empty boxes bring the total up to 183. At player 0 now, he pulls out a white sheet of paper with the number 8 written in large, legible letters. The boxes are indeed empty, so the total rises to 191. The red sheet of paper inside of player 1’s VOTE bin reads “3,” bringing the total up to 194, since no poker chips were deposited in the bins. Now at purple, the vote is 22. As with all others, the bins are empty, and the total rises to 216.
“Well then, I believe that’s all of them! Now for what you’ve all been waiting for: the results! I’m sure you can do the simple math, but I’ll go through it for those of you who cannot. 216 divided by 27 is 8, remainder 0. Oh wait, that’s the other way around, isn’t it… No matter! 216 divided by 8 is 27, again divided evenly, which is what matters. So, player 0 is indeed our winner for this round!” As the roulette ball rolls to a stop at White, he takes out a white poker chip and hands it to Barbaro.
“Well then, the next round begins now.” He pulls out a stopwatch and presses it, staring intently as the players around him try to figure out what to do next.
After the conclusion of the first round, Barbaro takes an early lead. However, this is still anyone’s game. The current standings are as follows:
0. Barbaro (11) – 1 point
1. Satake Kazuyasu (10) – 0 points
2. Aisuke Setsuna (10) – 0 points
3. Kaitani Katsumi (10) – 0 points
4. Kuwabara Kimura (10) – 0 points
5. Wada Mitsuru (10) – 0 points
6. Yomohiro Rie (10) – 0 points
7. Sagaro (9) – 0 points
You have 24 hours from the time of this post to send in your vote for the next round. Make sure your vote is in if you want a chance to win a point. Also, if you wish to place a poker chip in someone’s bin, please specify REMOVE or RESTRICT, or I will be unable to place your poker chip in either bin. This is your only warning, and I will not allow extra time for you to decide which bin.
This round ends at 9:50 pm GMT on March 7, 2012.
