Round 7
From the bench comes a sudden noise, a loud screeching that is painful to hear. Alydar stirs from his nap and calmly reaches into his pocket, pulls out his cell phone, looks for a few moments while the unearthly screeching continues, and finally presses a button, stopping the sound. He looks over to the table where the participants are cautiously lowering their hands from their ears. It looks like a few of them had actually fallen asleep! "Wha? Eh? Ah. Yes. The game. Here goes. Player 5 took the lead last round, correct? Let's begin at him." He takes the RESTRICT bin and shakes it, revealing nothing. He then does the same with the REMOVE bin, revealing nothing once again. "Your vote will count. Let's see what it is..." He pulls out a sheet of paper. "53. The total is now 53." He moves around the circle to the next player, Yomohiro Rie. Both the RESTRICT and REMOVE bin are empty, so whatever vote she placed counts. That is, if she had placed a vote. The gray tile is flipped to black on the roulette wheel. "Ah, what happened here? Oh well, if you don't want to win, so be it..."
Next is Sagaro, whose measly vote on 1 is neither restricted nor removed, so the total rises to 54. After that is Barbaro with no restriction, removal, or vote, so the white tile is flipped to black. "You like your behind-by-one-point second-place lead, hmm? Or did you simply follow my lead and fall asleep? Either way, whatever happened, you may not win this round." At Satake Kazuyasu, the vote is 31. There are no poker chips in either the RESTRICT or REMOVE bin, so the total rises to 85. Following him is Aisuke Setsuna with a vote of 49. Again, there is nothing in either the RESTRICT or REMOVE bin, so the total rises to 134. Next is Kaitani Katsumi whose inactivity flips the green tile to black. Yet again, no poker chips were placed in his bins. Last is Kuwabara Kimura who voted 25. No chips were in either bin, so the total indeed rises and ends at 159.
Black, Red, Purple, Black, Yellow, Blue, Black, Brown, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... The roulette ball circles 19 times, passes a black tile and falls just short of another, on brown. "Well, that was a close one. Sagaro has traversed the mire of upturned tiles to successfully pull out a win in this round! Congratulations!" Alydar picks out a brown poker chip and hands it to Sagaro. "Now, hopefully a visual display of the time counting down will remind you of your decision this time?" From under the table, he pulls out a large countdown clock, sets the time, and presses a button, watching the time count down as the next round begins.
Here are the current standings:
0. Barbaro (10) - 1 point
1. Satake Kazuyasu (10) - 1 point
2. Aisuke Setsuna (7) - 0 points
3. Kaitani Katsumi (9) - 0 points
4. Kuwabara Kimura (1) - 0 points
5. Wada Mitsuru (8) - 2 points
6. Yomohiro Rie (10) - 0 points
7. Sagaro (10) - 1 point
From bins, players will receive the following poker chips at the end of the game:
Barbaro: 2 yellow, 1 blue, 1 red
Satake Kazuyasu: 2 yellow, 1 purple
Aisuke Setsuna: 2 yellow
Kaitani Katsumi: 1 brown, 1 blue, 1 yellow
Kuwabara Kimura: 1 purple
Wada Mitsuru: 1 green, 1 purple
Yomohiro Rie: 1 blue, 1 yellow
Sagaro: 1 blue, 1 white, 1 yellow
With yet another player in second place, first place is a tenuous position. Can Wada pull out a win? Or will another player come from behind and take it from him? Who will be restricted? Who will be removed? Who will be just plain lucky? Only time will tell. And speaking of time, you have 24 hours from this minute to make your decisions.
