Hi, I think the star system is too effective in telling how many trophies you have/what you've done. Like this:
1 star right now - means you posted a confessional, a chatlog, joined the game, and introduced yourself. If you don't have that, we know you're either missing a confessional or a chatlog.
But let's say you get a star during a Round; you get the TWO-FACED LIAR and the THREE-FACED LIAR trophies. Anyone who observes properly would notice that you betrayed them (because it wouldn't appear as if you did anything else). Alternatively, you could have only finished the chatlog/confessional/join game/ introduce yourself trophies. It still is a tell-tale sign that both your groups would freak over. It's just unnecessary information that would only con-volute interactions between players.
So, can we receive stars AFTER a Round? The trophies would come during the Rounds/after/before, but the stars would come after.

This would not be too much of a problem unless you were already planning to betray someone... *Steps back*
Don't worry, I am just kidding. If wearing the stars on your jacket would become a problem, we could have our star pins removed and placed in the vault with our trophies instead, right? Receiving them after the round would still give you away, especially if you were in a long-term alliance or something.

Yeah that's true about the long-term alliance, but if you betrayed them, you'd probably have cut off ties with them anyways, yeah xD? Besides, after a Round is completed, it's hard to tell what you did. But during a Round, it's problematic for no real reason. It makes teammates suspicious at you for no reason during a Round. Unnecessary information that could affect the game outcome, I would think, because most people like to pretend every piece of information they get is the truth.
I still want my stars to be shown >.>

It seems pointless to me, you could have got any other trophy that made you gain a star. You could have got the DANCE MONKEY DANCE because the dealers like your gameplay. You could have got the trophies that require you to post 10 chatlogs/confessionals, or the one that requires you to post a lot in 48 hours. There's so many trophies you could get, if your teammates freak out just because you get a star during a round then it's time to find smarter and less paranoid teammates.

Most of the trophies are handed out at the end of the round anyway... but there are some trophies that are more instantaneous.
We'll do this: we give you the trophy when you earn it, but wait on adding up stars until the end of the round.

Also, you won't know WHICH trophies people have earned, or for what reason. As things stand right now, there are only so many you can get. When things get underway, it becomes harder to tell who got what for what. The only real guage you get is the stars, which is more an indicator of a player's activity than anything else.

I s'pose that's true >.>
Still, it seems like stars should be given after Rounds rather than during, just in case. I dunno, it feels like unnecessary information (which you guys keep pointing out), but it does tend to give people the idea that you did something that they can find hints of. So in a sense, it's unnecessary information that would confuse people. That's why I think it should be hidden.
It would be comparable to win/loss rates being hidden in SC2, because the match-making system is designed to keep you always vs. people in your skill level anyways. The reason it was removed was because people would assume that a >50% win ratio meant that you were going to get promoted to the next level, and so people that had >60% were always complaining, "Why am I not promoted yet?" When in reality, they just weren't facing the right opponents yet, and when they did, they'd lose. It was more important who you lost TO/ won TO, rather than how many wins/how many losses.
It's the same here.
I know everyone starts off with 2 bronze cups. As soon as Round 1 starts, we get 3. If they post a Confessional, as soon as Round 1 starts, they get a star.
BUT as soon as play starts, people will start to think trophies mean SOMETHING. Because it can be calculated (trophies) by the number of stars, people can think of random patterns because they everyone has 3 bronze trophies for sure. Basically, it might hit people in the head with ideas like "he has 3 stars? Okay, I know what he's done for 2 of them, so I can find out what he did for the 3rd one, and I can keep a tab on his actions!"
Someone MUST have thought like that by now. But the thinking is incorrect, as you said, because predicting it like that is just plain impossible. It's unnecessary information during a Round, but it's a medal after a Round.
Assuming that someone was able to predict something based off stars, then the system is flawed even then. Being put at risk for a plan during a Round because of things like stars is just plain stupid. Nobody should be able to see what I do unless I hint at it accidentally or purposefully (or get betrayed by one of my allies to). No one would get stars because there would be a way someone could find out what you did. That sort of mentality really burdens on what players want to do.
Conversely, after a game is done, if your stars are shown, they can only think "Oh! So he/she did x while playing in Round Y, and that's why I lost."
