And with that, all six players return to the central foyer. Each person is holding two envelopes. Some are calm, others are anxious.
Anxious to get started, Ito Takeshi rips open Envelope #29. At the same time, Kindai Ichii rips open Envelope #11, and Aitou Kaichi confidently opens Envelope #14.
All three players pull out +¥99M! A healthy lead! Can the other players follow?
Naito Daigo, hopeless after his encounter with the masked attendant, opens Envelopes #9 and #30... finding -¥51M and -¥49M respectively. Naito Daigo faces his -¥100M debt in tears.
Yusuke Shinko tremulously opens Envelope #21 just as Kokawa Kyoko opens Envelope #18... Both find +¥49M! Not too shabby... will they be able to pull past their powerhouse opponents?
Kindai Ichii, unable to take the suspense, rips his Envelope #12 apart... and goes bug-eyed in horror. His lips tremble as he slowly pulls out an I.O.U. for -¥49M! Bad luck, but perhaps not so much? +¥50M total for Kindai Ichii.
Yusuke Shinko apprehensively tears open Envelope #6... and pulls out +¥51M! Yusuke Shinko is the first player to acquire the full hundred!
Ito Takeshi, quivering, opens his Envelope #3 like a bag of chips... and pulls out an I.O.U. for a measly -¥1M... for a total of +¥98M! Will this make a difference between winning and losing?
Kokawa Kyoko whimpers... opening Envelope #4. She peers inside...
A piercing shriek rings throughout the lobby. Through her tears, she quakes... showing everyone the -¥99M I.O.U. in her envelope! -¥50M for Kokawa Kyoko... a total from which there is now no recovery.
Ito breathes a sigh of relief... he's definitely in the top 3.
The tension is cut by a single snicker... the players look over to their final opponent. Aitou Kaichi grins... holding up Envelope #16.
"Remember this, Naito?"
Naito's jaw drops as Aitou tenderly peels the envelope back, gleefully dumping +¥99M on the floor in front of him.
Splendid! Aitou Kaichi has collected +¥198M! A spectacular score!
The masked attendants add up the contents of the remaining envelopes, which reach a total of -¥296M. Split between 6 players, each player must pay the LGT -¥49.33M.
So what are the final standings?
1st: Aitou Kaichi, keeps #14 and #16, sum total +148.67M.
