OBJECTIVE[/u]
To get the highest poker hand.
POKER BASICS[/u]
We are using a standard 52 card deck, no Jokers. Aces are high.
The following is the list of hands you can make in Poker, ranked from highest to lowest:
If there is a tie for a hand, the highest value in the hand type determines the winner (e.g. Two players have a three-of-a-kind, but one has three 5s and the other has three 6s... the player with the three 6s wins).
If there is a tie for that, the highest card in what remains determines the winner (e.g. two players have two-of-a-kind Aces, but one player has a King while the other has a 2, 3, 4 as their other cards... the player with the King wins).
If there is still a tie, then it is considered a draw.
EDIT: Please see official tiebreaker rules in the following post.
TOKENS[/u]
You've each been given 300 golden coins. The price of each coin is ¥50,000, for a total of ¥15M. At the end of the game, you are required to return ¥5M to the LGT, making this game a ¥10M bonus game!
You will be using these tokens to bid on lots of cards.
LOT CATALOGUES[/u]
When the game begins, we will provide a Catalogue of "lots" consisting of randomly decided (but evenly distributed) cards each, labeled A, B, C, D, etc., to be potential hands. All 52 cards will be dealt in this Catalogue.
Bidding will start on a batch of Lots. Once bidding begins for a lot, you will have 24 hours to place your bid on any of the Lots in that batch by PMing your Dealer the number of golden coins you are willing to spend to win it. The player who bid the highest wins by paying their offered amount of golden coins. If there is a tie for highest bid, the player who made their offer first is the winner.
Once the first batch of Lots have been won, bidding will begin for the next batch of Lots, and so on. Once you win an opening lot, you are not allowed to bid on other opening lots.
Please be aware that once you have placed a bid for a lot, you cannot change or cancel it.
If you win multiple lots, you win whichever of the lots you bid highest on. If you bid the same, the next player who bid the highest on one of the lots gets that lot while you get the other.
If, for whatever reason, there are players who did not get an opening hand at the end of the opening session, any Lots that were not bid on by anyone will be re-auctioned one at a time until all players get an opening hand.
CHANGE[/u]
If you feel there are cards in your hand that are weak, you may trash them. You can only get cards to replace your trash cards through bidding.
There will be 5 Change Sessions. Each Change Session will last 24 hours. PM your Dealer which cards you wish to Change. There is no limit to how many or how few cards you wish to Change. After these 24 hours, the Change Catalogue will be dealt.
Each Lot in the Change Catalogue will be equal to the number of cards trashed by each player, starting from first trash to last trash. All trashed cards and any remaining cards in the Deck are shuffled and fill these Lots. As before, bidding will be open on a batch of lots every 24 hours. The Change Session will be complete once the winner of the last lot is determined, and then the next Change Session will begin.
Unlike the opening hands catalogue, you may bid for and win multiple Lots.
ENDGAME[/u]
After the fifth Change Session, the game ends, and players will be ranked according to the strength of their hands.
If you do not have a hand of at least five cards, you are a Pig (that is, a player with no placement). You are automatically in last place.
If you have a hand of more than five cards, we will take the strongest possible combination in your hand and use that to rank you.
Upon being ranked, this will be the payout:
MISCELLANEOUS[/u]
INACTIVITY[/u]
If you are deemed inactive, all of your cards are trashed and all of your coins are revoked. You will still be expected to pay the LGT the ¥5M at the end of the game. If you feel for whatever reason you are comfortable with your hand and decide to do nothing for the rest of the game, please let us know so we don't remove you.
