As you look around the room, you see a man sitting in the corner reading. While you continue to stare, he gets up and walks over to you.
"Hello, I'm Watsuki Shichiro. It's nice to meet you. I hope to be a good challenger during this tournament."
Greetings! I'm a new player, and I hope to learn a lot from you all about how to play this game, so I can join in the next one. If you ever need a substitute, I'd be happy to oblige!

Currently I'm reading The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, but after that I'm finally going to read the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Lately, I've gotten into reading fantasy epics, and they're really good so far.

Ah, the Wheel of Time series... XD
And welcome to the Grand Alliance of the Wonderful Substitutes. The world would've been under our control if we could solve one small setback.
The fact that we really can't do that much, outside of subbing people.

Well we'll just have to make due with manipulating people from the shadows ;D
We might not be able to help ourselves, but we can be the gaya of an alliance!
btw: How do you quote someone? I'm new to forums and will need a little help finding my way here...

I'm new to forums and will need a little help finding my way here... Have you been on any forums before? Same logic applies here that applies there on how to quote people. And I read that as gays of an alliance lol, seemed like a fishy reason to participate in an online tournament. Oh wait, Fumio will get on my case about being a homophobe...

This is my first forum experience, so I'm completely clueless! Feel free to show me the ropes! Is there a button or do you copy the text or is it something else entirely?

Think about the entire universe. =D Imagine it yet? That's going to be mine, one day. Edit: Quote button to the top right of each post, click, and =D

Nice to meet you, fellow substitute!
As for 'quoting', press the 'quote' button above the reply you would like to respond to. Also, I am a great fan of fantasy epics.

Ah - you can also learn BBC coding - it will be helpful when you want to italicie or bold or more.
Also, Setsuna-san is completely right - think bigger, my new friend. Beyond the universe, into some unknown realm we have yet to know anything of - that will be the extent of our power.
Edit: Darn it xD Coding error...

Well I personally quite enjoy the Eragon series, and now I'm starting to overlap Epic Fantasy with High Fantasy... darn subgenres... I read those, but I stopped after Eldest. It seemed like it lost all the momentum from Eragon, but maybe I just need to reread the series?

Yes, it is rather slow-paced >...> I do like Eragon best of all the books, but I've stuck through the series for the underlying plot. However, I have to admit that it gets tedious sometimes ^^"
However you probably should reread the series. There is a good story under all the description.
